Ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs): (Biological Classification > Speed of Evolution > High > RefOG013) - Ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs) are a conserved family of ligand-gated ion channels present in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. This ROG represent a lineage-specific expansion of iGluRs in Drosophila genome (names as Ionotropic Receptors) (Croset et al, 2010). iGluRs are characterised by the presence of a conserved ligand-gated ion channel domain.
