Glutathione S-transferase (GSTCD): (Random Families > RefOG062) - GSTCD, the C-terminal -helical domain common to the glutathione S-transferase (GST) family of enzymes, is involved in cellular detoxification by catalyzing conjugation of glutathione to products of oxidative stress (PMID: 15822171). GST enzymes also show glutathione peroxidase activity regulating the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes (PMID: 15822171). GSTCD is one of the five genes were found to be associated with lung function in population genomics study (PMID: 20010834).
